Throughout my time as editor-in-chief and senior editor of Melisma Magazine, I pushed to expand the magazine's layout team and capabilities. ​When I first started, the magazine ran in black and white and each article used the same template. I pushed for and ultimately led our magazine to run in full color and was the lead on print layout. By the end of my time, the templates had been completely overhauled, each article featured art and photos that related to the article, and we allowed for more freedom with typeface and color options. The result is a bold design that not only captures readers' attention, but also reflects the spirit of the magazine and the music that we cover.
