SomaSou

SomaSou, a brand new medical spa in Alexandria, VA, wanted to translate their logo into a unique social media presence. Many medical spas cater towards women, but SomaSou's CEO felt it was important that their identity didn't become too feminine as she wanted all gender identities to feel welcome.

To launch the account, they wanted eye-catching graphics and found it important that people would be able to get a clear picture of their brand and mission. I developed a cohesive visual style and a social strategy to launch their Instagram and Facebook accounts.

To launch the account, they wanted eye-catching graphics and found it important that people would be able to get a clear picture of their brand and mission. I created a series of three motion graphics that stand alone in conveying pieces of their identity but work together in the feed to give an overall picture of who the company is. Using trending motion design techniques and developing key type treatments, the first few posts set the tone for the templated content to follow.

Because it is both a new company and a medical brand, SomaSou's priority was creating informative content, both about their business and the procedures that medical spas offer. Therefore, I focused on using social media to provide insight and education to viewers about the services and procedures offered. Their core identity is helping members of their community build their confidence and strength, so we focused our messaging on that as well.

I ensured strategic color distribution across the grid so that colors were balanced and not repeated left, right, above, or below.

Templated posts fell into a few categories: mission-amplifying definitions, service promotion, FAQs, product images, and announcements. All post types work in many combinations of colors.

*Note: The client changed their brand color palette between the launch posts and the content development phase, deprioritizing the dark green and purple.
